A hunting jacket as tough and practical as you are.
Hunting's about focusing 100% on your prey. No distractions. That applies to your clothes just as much as to your gun or your binoculars.
You need to stay dry and warm in heavy rain. You need something light enough to pack away, yet roomy enough for more layers.
At Red Kettle, we like to think things through. Our hardshell hunting jacket is made from a 3-layer, bonded waterproof and breathable shell fabric. It's light enough to pack easily, yet roomy enough for layers underneath.
We chose the fabric for being waterproof, light and easy to pack. It's also fast-drying. So you're never distracted by the wet. It comes with six pockets for your gear and with a PFC-free DWR, which is better for the environment.
It's excellent for hind stalking in winter in the Scottish Highlands or the Alps, when you need a layer that packs away easily whilst you climb steep terrain.
We're hunters, too. That means we've looked closely at the detail. It's why we've used a quick-drying fabric that withstands heavy rain, whilst being breathable. It's why we've taped the seams. And why we chose Raglan sleeves and articulated elbow panels for maximum freedom of movement.
Waist pockets sit at the side, so they don't get in the way when you're lying prone. The hood moves with your head, so you never miss that vital shot. And pockets come with drain holes, for the times when you use it in extreme conditions.
There's an elastic waist cord to trap insulating air. You can mount your accessories on Velcro panels in the shoulder and chest pockets. Even the zips are oversize, so you can zip up while wearing gloves.
All this makes our hardshell perfect for taking on Scotland's west coast, for changeable mountain hunting, or for hunting from a tent where you need gear that dries fast.
We believe we've made a great jacket, prioritising the right features for the job. We've gotten it tested by other hunters. They agree.
The jacket's built from three-layer waterproof and breathable shell fabric that dries super-fast.
Not only does it protect from driving rain, but it also stands up to crawling through rough terrain.
Shell fabric gives full flexibility for managing insulation to keep you comfortable.
Built by hunters, the hardshell supports hunting movement patterns. You get maximum freedom for hunting, spying and shooting.
The shell-type jacket allows you to dress in layers for maximum comfort and flexibility and to adapt to different conditions.
The hardshell is a regular hunting fit. It's slim enough to stay out of your way while hunting, yet loose enough to add layers underneath. Choose from regular or long versions.

The size chart measurements are body measurements. Garments will have further allowance for insulating layers.
For example, if your chest measures 100 cm / 40” you should select size Medium.
If you select a Light Ventile Jacket with a slimmer fit you will have room for a base layer and a light mid-layer under the jacket. If you select the Ventile Parka, which has a looser fit, you will have room for a base layer and a heavier mid layer as well as space for trapped air.
Each size (M, L, XL etc.) come in a regular and long size. The two key differences are "height of back" and arm length.
Chest (1): measured during normal breathing whilst standing erect and the tape-measure passed under the armpits and across the chest.
Back height (2): Measured on your back, from where your back of neck meets your shoulders and down to the level of your navel.
Waist (3): measured at natural waistline, between top of hip bone and lower ribs, just around your navel.
Arms (4): tape-measure your straight arm lifted to a horizontal position. Measure from your neck to your wrist bone. Please note, the garment will reach further than your wrist bone, this point is only used as reference for sizing.
Please email us at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions about sizing.
