The name RedKettle is a reference to the kettle boiling water over a campfire.
It represents three things that are important to us. The moments after hunting, sharing drinks and stories with good friends, game cooked over glowing embers and the big and small adventures that nature gives us.
We are absolutely passionate about hunting, which means we reflect a lot on the topic.
Someone once said that a true conservationist is someone who knows that the world is not given by their parents but borrowed from their children.
At RedKettle we believe that good hunters are also “tree huggers” and this quote sums up our approach to hunting and running our business.
We believe that because we eat wild food, hunters are connected to nature in a way that many non-hunters aren’t. It puts us in a great place to speak nature's cause. Many do that already. Through grass root efforts to conserve nature locally or where they hunt abroad, or by merely introducing friends and family to venison.
This is a good thing that can’t be done too much. And something we should all think about all the time. Also for activities not related to hunting. It is this idea that shapes our vision.
We want RedKettle to be a way to inspire and equip other hunters to be stewards of nature, so that future generations can continue to hunt and enjoy wild food.
We do several things that help contribute to this vision, but one thing stands out.
We want to champion the idea of doing more with less, by making minimalist clothing and gear.
a person whose responsibility it is to take care of something.
